Clean tech investment soars to $493 billion under Biden, fueled by Inflation Reduction Act’s $370 billion support.

Consumer and business spending on clean tech has surged under President Joe Biden, according to two reports. The Inflation Reduction Act, which was signed two years ago, authorized nearly $370 billion to aid industries that produce renewable energy, electric vehicle infrastructure, carbon capture facilities and low-emissions appliances. Since the law was enacted in 2022, businesses and consumers have invested $493 billion in factories and products related to cleaner technologies and infrastructure. This is a 71 percent increase from the two-year period leading up to enactment.
