Clean energy sector surges in May with 11 new projects, $950 million investment, and 1,300 jobs created.

In May, the clean energy sector saw a significant increase in major project announcements, with a 37% increase from previous months. E2’s monthly report revealed that 11 new large-scale clean energy projects were announced, which are expected to create 1,300 new jobs and involve investments totalling $950 million. Major investments include a $550 million green hydrogen production facility in Arizona and a $193 million manufacturing hub in Georgia. The projects are distributed across various political districts, with six of the projects located in districts represented by Republican lawmakers. Since the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) was implemented in August 2022, there have been over $124 billion in capital investment and the creation of at least 106,776 new jobs. The manufacturing industry saw the most new projects in May, followed by generation projects.
