Carlueworks Unveils $1 Billion Carbon Removal Facilities in Louisiana, Promising Cost-Effective and Energy-Efficient Technology.

Carlueworks, a leading carbon removal company, has unveiled its first renderings of its $1 billion sky-scrubbing facilities in Louisiana as part of a $1bn megaproject backed by the Energy Department. The five-story cube structures, arrayed in a grid, claim to filter carbon dioxide from the atmosphere at half the cost of its current direct air capture technology. The new technology, dubbed “Gen 3,” could expand Climeworks’ customer base and accelerate the reduction of climate pollution. The improvements are mainly due to design changes that have increased the durability and contact surfaces of its carbon absorbing materials. The facilities are expected to use half as much energy as their current current facilities.
