Capito Raises Concerns Over NRC Chair Hanson’s Reappointment Amid Telework Policies and Reactor Relicensing Delays

Senate Environment and Public Works ranking member Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) has expressed concerns about the appointment of Nuclear Regulatory Commission Chair Christopher Hanson for another term, expressing concerns about his record, including his flexible policies on telework and a decision to delay the potential relicensing of existing nuclear reactors. Capito’s vote could determine whether Hanson will be allowed to remain on the regulatory panel. His current term expires June 30.
