Canadian Solar has signed a supply agreement with Sol Systems for US-made TOPCon modules. The agreement was not disclosed. The first shipment of TOPCon products will occur in January 2024 to US solar distributor Signature Solar. In October, Canadian Solar announced plans to build a 5GW solar cell production facility in Jeffersonville, Indiana, which will supply the Texas module plant. The US Department of the Treasury recently announced guidelines for its 45X Advanced Manufacturing Production Credit, which clarify the eligibility of US-produced solar components for tax credits and the amount of credits they can receive. This follows a significant increase in demand for locally-made products. In August 2023, EDF Renewables North America will take delivery of 7GW of modules from 2024-2030.
