California’s Clean-Vehicle Program Faces Approval Delay, Threatening Air Quality and State Regulations Ahead of Inauguration.

The Obama administration has yet to approve crucial parts of California’s clean-vehicle program, affecting eight regulations currently on the books. The delay could jeopardize efforts to clean up California’s polluted air and potentially harm other states that have adopted California’s rules. The decision could leave the rules vulnerable to former President Donald Trump or a more conservative Congress. The deadline for approval is Jan. 19 before the next presidential inauguration.
