US cannabis company Bright Green Corporation (NASDAQ:BGXX) has announced plans to build a 102-MW solar field in Grants, New Mexico to power its research, production and extraction processing facility. The project aligns with Bright Green’s commitment to replacing natural gas and heavy oil with clean electricity. The company expects the project to be completed within 30 months. The successful bid will also include a power purchase agreement (PPA) from local utilities to procure excess power during peak times. Three 40-MW electric boilers will be installed by Precision Boilers LLC to power the solar field and heat hot water during low sun periods.
