The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) has extended the comment period on a draft Environmental Assessment (EA) for wind lease issuance in two areas offshore Oregon, to June 14. This follows feedback from Oregon tribes and stakeholders. The draft EA assesses the environmental consequences from wind leasing and related site characterisation and site assessment activities. It was released alongside a proposed lease sale for two areas off the coast of Oregon suitable for floating wind deployment. The two areas together could generate up to 3.1 GW of generation.
