BLM Reverses Trump-Era Decision, Closes Most of Sonoran Desert National Monument to Target Shooting Activities

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has reversed a controversial decision by closing most of an Arizona national monument, the Sonoran Desert National Monument, to recreational target shooting. The decision overturns a 2018 Trump-era resource management plan amendment that had opened 90 percent of the national monument to target shooting, potentially ending regulatory and legal action for over two decades.
