BLM Reinstates Janine Velasco to Manage Inflation Reduction Act Funds for Landscape Restoration and Renewable Energy Projects

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has brought back former senior official, Janine Velasco, to oversee the expenditure of hundreds of millions of dollars in Inflation Reduction Act funds. The funds will be used to invest in large-scale landscape restoration projects, renewable energy and transmission line permitting, among other projects. Velaso, who has over 30 years of experience at BLM and other federal agencies, will coordinate the bureau’s efforts to implement funding from the IRA.
