BLM Advances Nine Solar Projects to Power 2 Million Homes, Supporting Biden’s Clean Energy Goals by 2035.

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is proceeding with nine solar projects on public lands in Western Public Lands, expected to power nearly 2 million homes with clean energy. The projects will support President Biden’s aim to create a carbon pollution-free power sector by 2035. The decision supports the Department’s announcement of permitting BLM for more than 25 GW of clean energy projects, enough to power over 12 million homes across the country. The final environmental impact statement for the proposed 5,100-acre Libra solar project in Mineral and Lyon Counties, Nevada, has been published. An additional 70 utility-scale clean power projects are currently under process in the western U.S.
