Biden’s Spring Agenda Targets Climate Change and Pollution, Contrasting Trump’s Deregulatory Promises Amid Future Uncertainty.

President Joe Biden has outlined his spring Unified Agenda, outlining rules for the coming months that will include tackling climate warming gases and polluted waterways, and protecting public lands. The documents contrast Biden’s proposed regulations with former President Donald Trump’s campaign promise to eliminate the administrative state. The Biden administration also detailed its time frame for tackling greenhouse gas emissions from existing natural gas-fired power plants, with EPA planning to issue a proposed rule in December 2024. However, a second Trump administration is likely to change course on any climate rules from the Biden team. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has drafted protections for extreme heat, which are not expected to be finalised for some time.
