Biden Administration Seeks Evidence from Farmers on Emission-Reducing Practices for Future Clean Fuels Tax Credit.

The Biden administration is asking farm and biofuel groups to detail how certain crops and growing practices can reduce emissions tied to climate change. The Agriculture Department is seeking evidence that conservation practices make biofuels a climate-smart alternative to petroleum. The move, which industry groups predict could help shape a clean fuels tax credit set to take effect in 2025, but Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack said that the tax credit isn’t the sole reason for the information request. The USDA is providing guidance to the Treasury Department on how the Treasury should apply to agriculture.
