Badger Hollow Solar Park in Wisconsin Completes First Phase, Powers 90,000 Homes and Reduces Carbon Emissions.

The Badger Hollow solar park in Wisconsin’s Iowa County, Wisconsin, has completed its first phase of its 300-MW power plant, Badgers Hollow, which can generate enough electricity for 90,000 homes each year. The power plant is owned by MG&E, We Energies and Wisconsin Public Service, with MGW owning 50 MW and 100 MW of the park’s capacity, while WPS owns the remaining 100 MW. The park, which is made up of 500,000 solar panels, can offset an estimated 6.2 million metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions over its lifetime. It has been praised as a significant milestone in reducing carbon emissions and providing long-term economic benefits to the area. The solar park has also benefited Madison Gas and Electric (MGE) and We Energynergies, allowing them to expand their access to renewable energy sources further in the state’s commitment to clean energy.
