Atlantica Sustainable Infrastructure plc (NASDAQ:AY) has agreed to be acquired by Energy Capital Partners (ECP) for a total equity value of about USD 2.55 billion (EUR 2.35bn). Shares in the UK-headquartered and US-listed target company fell 6.49% to USD 21.90 as of 0742 EDT on Tuesday in New York. The deal allows Atlantica to exchange each share held for USD 22 per share in cash, a premium of 18.9% to the target company’s closing price on April 22. The company owns a diversified portfolio of renewable energy, storage, efficient natural gas, electric transmission and water assets in North and South America, and certain markets in EMEA.
