US renewable developer, Apex Clean Energy, has secured a power purchase agreement (PPA) for its 150-MW Coldwater Solar project in Michigan. The contract is with a large Michigan-based energy company and marks the second deal with this company. The project is set to create over 200 jobs during construction and generate over USD 30 million in new tax revenue and contribute over USD 35 million to landowners and community participants. It will also contribute around USD 20 million towards upgrades to the local transmission system. In November 2021, funds managed by Ares Management Corp acquired a majority stake in Apex.
