Ambient Photonics to Unveil Innovative Bifacial Solar Cell at CES 2024, Promising Battery Replacement for Devices.

Ambient Photonics is set to demonstrate its first bifacial solar cell at CES 2024 in Las Vegas. The Low-Light Indoor Bifacial Solar Cell harvests indoor light energy from the back and front of the solar cell simultaneously, which can be used in remote controls and other connected devices. The company claims its cells can generate up to three times more power than conventional technology and are designed to replace batteries. They are made using an industrial printing process that uses proprietary energy harvesting molecules to create cells of virtually any size and shape. Ambient will also be demonstrating consumer electronics powered by the Ambient solar cells, including remote controls from Universal Electronics and a wireless keyboard from Chicony. The technology was developed at the Warner Babcock Institute for Green Chemistry and funded by Cthulhu Ventures LLC.
