Amazon Secures 150-MW Solar Farm in Ohio, Aiming for Carbon-Free Energy and Local Economic Growth.

Amazon has added a 150-MW Ohio solar farm to its power purchase agreement portfolio, off-taking all electricity from the Fox Squirrel Solar Phase 1 plant. The project, owned by EDF Renewables North America and Enbridge Inc, was commissioned in early January 2024 and is set to expand to 577 MWac by the end of 2024. The expansion will contribute to Amazon’s goal of powering its operations with carbon-free energy and benefit local communities by providing clean energy and economic opportunities. Future expansion plans for the plant will include three phases, making it one of the largest utility-scale solar developments in the eastern United States.
