Altus Power has acquired 84MW community solar portfolio in the north-east US, with the acquisition of 84MW capacity. The acquisition will allow Altus Power to expand its customer base and serve an additional 20 municipal, education, and enterprise clients. The deal will expand the company’s pool of customers by nearly 2,000 subscribers and serve nearly 2 million community solar subscribers. This acquisition is part of a long-term partnership with Vitol, a world-class leader in energy asset management, and Altus plans to expand this partnership further through development assets. This move signals a growing interest in the sector, crucial for the industry to add capacity to the expected 6.2GW of community solar by the end of 2023, according to the US Solar Energy Industries Association.
