Allegro Energy, a water-based redox flow battery tech company, has received a multi-million dollar Series A funding round, led by The Grantham Foundation, The Chicago-based Lightbank, and the Australian utility company, Origin Energy, secured a 5% stake in Allegro Energy in July 2023. The investors were attracted by Allegro’s “unique advantages in the fast-growing long-duration energy storage (LDES) space. The funds will help Allegro rapidly accelerate its manufacturing capacity and enable the company to address global needs at a global scale, according to Dr. Thomas Nann, Allegro’s co-founder and CEO. The funding round was part of a global effort to support natural resource conservation projects.
