AEP Sues GE Over Turbine Failures at Oklahoma Wind Farm, Claims Millions in Damages and Potential Refunds.

American Electric Power (AEP), the owner of the $2 billion Oklahoma wind farm, is suing General Electric Renewables North America (GE) over turbine generators at three wind farms. The lawsuit alleges breach of contract and breach of warranty. AEP claims it has incurred millions in damages related to turbines that have completely failed or have otherwise been rendered inoperable. The company also anticipates millions of additional costs and could be forced to refund money to consumers if the wind project doesn’t produce enough electricity.
