ACS Industries has been awarded a $9.9 million grant by the U.S. Department of Energy’s Hydrogen and Fuel Cells Technologies Office for the industrialization of novel manufacturing methods for the production of key PEM electrolyzer components. The project aims to reduce costs and enhance electrolyzer performance in line with the department’s ambitious 2031 “Hydrogen Shot” goals. It will also benefit the community through providing paid internships for disadvantaged students and establishing a factory that will initially create 60 clean energy jobs. ACS is working with partners including Plug Power, Tanury Industries, Inc., and the University of California, Irvine.
