The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has dismissed a climate lawsuit by 21 young people, Juliana v. United States, a case challenging the federal government’s reliance on oil and gas. The court stated that this violates young people’s constitutional right to a livable climate. Judges Mark Bennett, Ryan Nelson and Eric Miller, who were appointed by former President Donald Trump, ordered the dismissal of the case immediately. The federal court for the District of Oregon also dismissed the case.
